Our hospital will provide rehabilitative services for patients with functional deficits as a result of debilitating illnesses, or injuries. Through our inpatient rehabilitation programs, we help patients recover quickly and return home with a renewed sense of self-sufficiency.

Position Overview:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates a patient’s physical, cognitive and perceptual functional capacities and plans, organizes, coordinates, and administers goal-directed, activity oriented treatment while exercising professional judgment, knowledge, and skills in managing treatment plans for the purpose of promoting/restoring optimum independence in daily life tasks.  The Occupational Therapist ensures continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family, support system, and home program, if applicable. The Occupational Therapist supervises supportive personnel and actively participates in departmental activities and processes.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
  • Assesses education needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures in caring for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
  • Incorporates cultural and developmental needs into plan of care
  • Demonstrates proficiency using the machines, tools, equipment and work aids appropriate for the position.

Required Skills:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Utah required
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification required
  • One (1) year of experience in the care of patients in rehabilitation or acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
