We have a great opportunity for full time Physical Therapist(s) at our 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Brownsville, Texas!

At South Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, we provide inpatient rehabilitation to people recovering from disabling diseases and injuries, such as strokes, orthopedic, brain, and spinal cord injuries. In addition, we treat individuals who may have chronic illnesses such as cerebral palsy, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.

Nationally Recognized: Our hospital has been ranked in the Top 10% nationally for rehabilitative care for the past 8 years, and has earned The Joint Commission’s advanced stroke and hip fracture certifications. This means that we provide the highest level of care available to patients right here in our own community.

Requirements: 3-5 years experience in a hospital setting preferred. Current license as a Physical Therapist in the state of Texas; current CPR certification

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist evaluates a patient’s physical and functional capacities and plans, organizes, coordinates, and administers goal-directed, activity oriented treatment while exercising professional judgment, knowledge, and skills in managing treatment plans for the purpose of promoting/restoring optimum independence in daily life tasks and physical functions. The Physical Therapist ensures continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family, support system, and home program, if applicable. These functions are carried out according to hospital policy and in accordance with the mission and vision of the hospital and consistent with the philosophy of the department. The Physical Therapist supervises/provides physical therapy services to patients ranging in age from 14 to 100+ in an inpatient and/or outpatient environment. The Physical Therapist supervises
