BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients through the use of the nursing process and supports ANA standards of nursing. Therefore, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessments, planning, supervising, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning and help the patient adapt to an altered life style. The Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing patient care provided through support personnel. The RN provides care to adolescents through geriatric age patients. This goal is met by cooperation and communication with inter-and-intra-departmental staff, patients and families.
Minimum Work Experience
One (1) year recent experience in a Med-Surg to Post-ICU, acute care setting strongly encouraged.
Current license as a registered nurse in the state of Colorado is required, as well as current CPR/BLS certification.
- Proficient use of appropriate forms in documenting care and medical necessity.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and care
- Ability to demonstrate clinical proficiency utilizing policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.
- Knowledgeable about accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standard set forth by the stat and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions
